Not sure where a short link goes?
Check its destination before you open it
Do more with it…
How to use it
Paste the long link
Drop the full URL in. The address is validated and the destination is safety-checked before anything is created — links that look like phishing or malware are refused up front.
Set only the options you need
Give it a readable custom ending, add a password for links that should not be public, set an expiry date so it closes itself, and generate a matching QR code in the same step.
Share it, then watch the numbers
Copy the link and use it straight away. Signed in, you get clicks broken down by device, country and referrer — and you can repoint the destination later even after it has been shared.
Limits worth knowing
- Editing the destination later requires an account. Links created without signing in cannot be edited, because there is no account to prove ownership.
- Click statistics are anonymous — they report country, device type and referrer, never who clicked.
- A password-protected link reveals nothing to the link checker, not even the destination domain, because knowing the domain already tells you where it goes.
- Expired or paused links show a status page rather than forwarding, and are not deleted from the system straight away.
- A custom ending must be unique and cannot collide with a path the site already uses.
- Links reported for fraud are blocked, either individually or by destination domain, and anyone who checks them afterwards sees a blocked status.
Frequently asked questions
Can I shorten links without an account?
Yes — paste and shorten immediately. An account is only needed to edit the destination later, to see historical click statistics, and to manage all your links in one place.
Can the destination really be changed after sharing?
Yes. The short link acts as an intermediary, and anyone clicking it is forwarded to whatever destination you have set most recently. That is what makes it suited to QR codes printed on signage or packaging, which cannot be changed.
How does the link password work?
Visitors get a prompt first and are only forwarded once the password is correct. Until then the system reveals no destination, domain or title to anyone — including on the link checking page.
What do the click statistics tell me?
Total clicks over time, device type, country of origin, and the referrer that sent the visitor. For campaign-level detail, attach UTM parameters to the destination with the UTM Builder before shortening.
Do short links expire on their own?
No. They last until you set an expiry date or pause them. Expiry dates are useful for seasonal links — a promotion that should stop working once the campaign ends.
Can I shorten dozens of links at once?
Yes, on the bulk shortener page. Paste the whole list or upload a CSV, shorten them in one pass, then download the results back as CSV.
