Build a campaign tracking link

Tag it with UTM and shorten it in one go — know exactly which channel the clicks came from

UTM parameters are appended to a link so analytics tools can tell which channel a visitor came from.

Presets

How to use it

  1. Enter the destination link

Paste the URL of the page you want people to land on — a product page, a signup form. If that link already carries parameters, the UTM tags are appended correctly without breaking what is there.

  2. Fill in source, medium and campaign

These three are the backbone every analytics tool understands. Shortcuts for the channels used most in Thailand — Facebook, Google, TikTok, LINE, email and influencer — fill in source and medium for you. Add term and content when you need to separate paid keywords or individual creatives.

  3. Shorten it and put it to work

Tagged links get long enough to look untrustworthy in a post or a message. Shorten it on the same page, then turn that short link into a QR code for offline placements.

Limits worth knowing

  • UTM tags are labels appended to a URL. They do not change the destination page, and they do nothing on their own unless that page has analytics installed.
  • Values are case-sensitive — facebook and Facebook become two separate sources in your reports. Agree on all-lowercase and stick to it.
  • Do not put UTM tags on links between pages of your own site: it resets the session attribution and corrupts your source reports.
  • UTM parameters are visible in the address bar. Never put anything private in them, such as a customer name or an internal reference code.
  • Shortening preserves the tags, because the short link forwards to the full URL with its parameters intact.

Frequently asked questions

What is UTM tagging and why bother?

UTM tags are a standard set of parameters appended to a URL that tell your analytics where a visitor came from. Without them, traffic from a Facebook post, an email and a link-in-bio all pile into one undifferentiated bucket, and you cannot tell which channel actually worked.

Which fields are actually required?

Source, medium and campaign should be present every time. Term is for paid keyword advertising, and content separates variants within one campaign — creative A against creative B in a test, for example.

How should I name campaigns so they still make sense later?

Use one consistent, self-explanatory format — year-month-name, such as 2026-08-songkran-sale. Months later you will still be able to read a report row and know exactly which campaign it refers to.

Do UTM tags survive shortening?

Yes. The short link forwards to the full URL with every parameter intact, so analytics at the destination reads them normally — and you gain a layer of click statistics on the short link itself.

Can I put UTM tags in a QR code?

Yes, and you should — it is the only way to tell whether traffic came from a shop sign, a flyer or packaging. Set medium to qr and use content to identify the specific piece.
