Reduce JPG file size with no visible quality loss
JPGs straight out of a camera or phone are usually far bigger than the web needs. We encode with the MozJPEG engine in progressive mode, which produces files roughly 10-15% smaller than a standard JPEG encoder at the same quality. If you are uploading somewhere with a size limit, switch to target-size mode and quality is tuned to fit automatically.
- MozJPEG + progressive encoding for faster loading on the web
- EXIF and GPS stripped automatically — smaller files and better privacy
- Tip: converting to WebP instead saves another 25-35%

Frequently asked questions
What quality setting should I use?
For general web use 75-85 gives the best balance. Below about 60 you start to see artefacts in gradients and smooth areas.
